Masterplanning

As part of its consultancy work, the Foundation’s Projects and Practice Department also undertakes masterplanning exercises ranging from relatively small green field developments to major city centre regeneration strategies. Detailed masterplanning initiatives are often the outcome of earlier scoping exercises and the Enquiry by Design (EbD) workshop.

The masterplan will develop the strategy for the site developed during EbD, and will share the principles of this vision, based on traditional urbanism and stressing connectivity, walkability, mixed use, and place making.

Detailed masterplanning work is often requested by clients keen on refining and implementing the EbD outcomes. The Foundation might conduct EbD workshops providing advice and support to clients and their development consultants, or the client may engage the Foundation directly on a planning application.
