Education Programme

The Prince’s Foundation’s diverse Education Programme addresses the challenge of planning, designing and building cities, towns and neighbourhoods, evoking timeless principles to meet the immediate call for environmental responsibility.

We offer a series of RIBA-accredited conference and short courses in the built environment, drawing on the experience and knowledge of a host of education partners and specialist speakers. We teach the fundamentals of town-making based on principles of traditional urbanism, historic context, residential design and design coding. All our events are conducted in a highly inclusive, interdisciplinary manner, and frequently involve our eminent Senior Fellows, who are drawn from design practice, development and academia.

The Prince of Wales’s Building Crafts Apprentice Programme and Residential Summer School

The Prince of Wales’s Building Crafts Apprentice Programme attracts students from around the world. The annual, Residential Summer School linked to this initiative studies the role of craft in larger building culture, applying the lessons learned to a wide variety of projects. The Prince of Wales's Graduate Fellowship Programme in Sustainable Architecture & Urbanism

In response to the global skills shortage in urban design and green architecture, The Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment has established a Graduate Fellowship to meet the need for the next generation of architects and designers who will evolve traditional architecture and urbanism in response to the global climate and urbanisation challenges. We believe that comprehensive and practical action is needed to train designers who can evolve traditional approaches to planning and designing in response to our contemporary ecological crisis.  MORE INFO »
