Poundbury Village

Poundbury is the urban extension to Dorcester in Dorset, and is famous internationally as a pioneering example of urban development. It seeks to implement the principles expounded in The Prince of Wales’s 1989 book, ‘A Vision of Britain’. The development, initiated by His Royal Highness in 1993, was masterplanned by Leon Krier and is being developed by The Duchy of Cornwall. Poundbury embodies principles of traditional and sustainable urbanism, introducing a series of compact mixed-use neighbourhoods. FIND OUT MORE »
